Is a new A Tribe Called Quest album on the way?

Group member Phife Dawg passed away last year

A new A Tribe Called Quest album could be on the way.

The group’s Phife Dawg passed away last year, but according to L.A. Reid, a record was made before his death.

In an interview with Rap Radar, the Epic Records boss said: “[It is] a brand new album that they recorded before Phife passed away.

“I’m really happy about it man, it’s really something special. It’s one of the things I’m most excited about over everything we’re working on.”

As Consequence Of Sound reports, there are no official details of the album as yet.

If it is released it will be A Tribe Called Quest’s first album since 1998, when they released ‘The Love Movement’.
