As A1‘s UK 2K tour kicks off tonight in GLASGOW, BEN and CHRISTIAN from the band have been talking to NME.COM about what we can expect from the dates and the band’s forthcoming album ‘THE a LIST’.
Christian assures us that “We’re gonna have a lot of the songs from the new album which you won’t be able to hear anywhere else before the album comes out toward the end of November. The new songs are really really great, we’ve got some great stuff and the thing with us playing live will make it a bit different. I think people are going to be surprised to hear what the sound is like.”

Meanwhile Ben from a1 has been telling NME.COM all about ‘The a List’. “My favourite track is ‘I Wonder Why’,” he says. “Christian and I sat down in Christian‘s little bedroom in his house and he was strumming away, I was on the piano, and we took it to America and spoke to the producers out there. They totally turned it on its head – it sounds like Jordan Knight‘s ‘Give It To You’ now, and I love that song. ‘I Wonder Why’ makes me happy every time I hear it!”
Ben also hopes that ‘The a List’ should appeal to a wider audience than debut album ‘Here We Come’. “Loads of people go ‘Oh yeah, flippin’ boybands’,” he smiles. “But I think we’ve managed to gain a new audience because a lot of people who might have felt guilty about liking boyband music before can see that there is some actual talent behind this for whatever reason. So I think they don’t feel so stupid listening to the music, which has helped.”
The full track listing for ‘The a List’ has also been revealed. Following pop tradition it kicks off with the singles, and runs as follows:
‘Take On Me’
‘Same Old Brand New You’
‘No More’
‘One More Try’
‘The Things We Never Did’

‘Scared’
‘Celebrate Our Love’
‘Living The Dream’
