Drake has unveiled a new posthumous duet with Aaliyah, which is titled ‘Enough Said’. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to listen to the track.
The track, which has been produced by Noah ’40’ Shebib, features a previously unreleased vocal hook from the R&B singer, who died on August 25, 2001 in a plane crash.
Drake has previously said that he would like to work with Aaliyah’s unreleased material, but this has drawn some criticism from the singer’s producer Timbaland, who has said that both he and Missy Elliott should be involved in anything to do with Aaliyah’s unreleased work.
The producer told Power 105.1 FM when asked about this: “I know they are trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if Drake does it, it should be with me and him and Missy Elliott. I don’t know what’s going on. The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. For it to be on his record, that would not be right.”
Aaliyah Dana Houghton was born in New York in 1979 and raised in Detroit. She released her debut album, the R Kelly-produced ‘Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number’, in 1994.
It was followed in 1996 by ‘One In A Million’ and her self-titled third album, which was released a month before her death in 2001 and has since sold over 13 million copies.
Drake revealed over the weekend that he is spending his summer finishing off his high school education.
The 25 year old Canadian hip-hop artist told his hometown newspaper Now Toronto that he will be finally graduating from secondary education this year. He said: “I’m actually spending my summer graduating high school. That’s my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left, and I’m really excited about that.”
