AC/DC beating Kaiser Chiefs in chart battle

'Black Ice' outselling 'Off With Their Heads' so far

AC/DC are beating Kaiser Chiefs in the race for the Number One slot in the UK albums chart this week (beginning October 20).

The Australian rockers’ new album, ‘Black Ice’, is predicted to sell around 100,000 copies by the end of the week, HMV‘s Genaro Castaldo told BBC 6music. It has sold around 25,000 copies more than Kaiser Chiefs‘ new album, ‘Off With Their Heads’.

Castalo predicted that ‘Black Ice’ would outsell both ‘Off With Their Heads’ and Kings Of Leon‘s album ‘Only By The Night’ by a ratio of two to one.

‘Black Ice’ is AC/DC‘s first new album since 2000’s ‘Stiff Upper Lip’.

Angus Young and co. boycott Apple iTunes and other download services, only making their albums legally available in physical formats.
