ADAM ANT is due in court on February 14 – St Valentines Day – to face charges relating to a scuffle in a north LONDON pub in which he allegedly brandished a gun.

Ant, who was detained in the psychiatric ward of London’s Royal Free Hospital after the incident, was bailed for two weeks today by Highbury Magistrates. He was due to appear in person today, but was still too ill to appear.

The pop star, real name Stuart Goddard, is charged with criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a firearm, or imitation firearm, namely a brown handled revolver.

Ant, 47, was arrested after allegedly waving a gun at another patron in the Prince Of Wales pub on Saturday January 12. Two days later he was admitted to hospital and reportedly told The Sun newspaper: “They’ve put me in the Alice in Wonderland ward because they think I’m crazy,” adding, “I’m not mad.”

Doctors can hold Ant for 28 days under the Mental Health Act while they assess his condition. Relatives had apparently told police they were worried about the singer, who has suffered from depression in the past.
