Adam Green performs ‘Ladyboy’ song with The Paddingtons at free gig

New Yorker invited collaborators onstage at last-minute London show

Adam Green was joined onstage by members of The Paddingtons as he played a free gig in London last night (October 14).

The former Moldy Peaches man was performing a last-minute show at the Flowerpot venue in Kentish Town when he invited the Hull band to join him to perform a new song.

The track, ‘Ladyboy In Hull’, was co-written by Green, the band and former Dirty Pretty Things guitarist Anthony Rossomando. It is set to be released by The Paddingtons as a B-side early next year.

Alongside the collaboration, Green and his band also performed the likes of ‘The Prince’s Bed’, ‘Emily’, ‘Nat King Cole’ and ‘Dance With Me’.

The New York indie kingpin also performed an acoustic version of ‘Jessica’ that had the packed crowd – and some fans who watched from the street outside after being turned away when the free show reached capacity an hour before the gig – singing along loudly.

Green is now set to support The Cribs tonight (15) at the HMV Forum in London.
