Strokes, Interpol, Vampire Weekend members out for Adam Green’s first art show

We Are Scientists also out for former Moldy Peaches man's first exhibition in New York

Adam Green was joined by the likes of The Strokes, Interpol and Vampire Weekend for the launch night of his first art exhibition in New York last week.

Taking place at Manhattan‘s Morrison Hotel Gallery – formerly CBGBs – the former Moldy Peaches man was joined by many of the city’s indie elite, as We Are Scientists and Lightspeed Champion also turned out for the collection’s opening.

“It was a perfect night, I felt like Cinderella,” Green told NME.COM of the launch. “Now I know why people like art more than music. I was a total schmoozer. I just stood in the middle of the room and smiled, but if I could do it again I would have crowd surfed my own art show. Some guy came in and spent $3,000 and he had never even heard of me before… that’s how good at drawing I am! [laughs]. I started working on another art show based on traumatic memories.”

The exhibition, which is entitled Teen Tech and focuses on “cartoon subjects”, is being extended now until May 2. On that evening Green is promising to stage a “closing party” which will be open to the public, and will feature a live performance.
