Adam Lambert’s performance of ‘Believe’ made Cher cry

This year’s Kennedy Center Honors celebrated the lifetime achievements of Cher and the iconic singer was treated to performances of some of her best songs.

Pop star, American Idol runner-up and occasional Queen frontman Adam Lambert performed a stripped-back cover of Cher’s massive 1998 hit ‘Believe’.

During the performance, the camera panned to Cher and it seems Lambert’s emotional rendition caused Cher to shed a tear.

Cyndi Lauper also treated Cher to a performance of her song ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’. Cher seemed surprised by Lauper’s appearance, later shouting “You told me you were going to be in Los Angeles!” See clips of the performances below.

Writing about the experience, Cher tweeted: “Tried 2 write Feelings About Adam Lambert Singing
Believe In Words, but Cant seem 2.When Your senses are Overwhelmed All Can you feel with your [heart].
I Was Shocked AND Over The MOON When Cindi (Lauper) came out Rocking the house.
Shocked Because SHE TOLD ME SHE WAS IN LA,”

Earlier this month, Cher confirmed details of her first UK dates for over 14 years, after previously teasing her return.

The pop icon will play a string of dates in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Leeds in October next year. As well as playing a wide selection of hits from her acclaimed back catalogue, Cher will also treat fans to numbers from her ABBA covers album which arrived earlier this year.
