Adele reportedly set for ‘X Factor’ live final performance this weekend

12th series of TV singing contest comes to an end this week

Reports claim that Adele will perform live during Sunday’s X Factor final.

The 12th series of the TV singing contest concludes this weekend, with The Sun reporting that Adele will join One Direction and Coldplay on the show’s bill.

Every year each finalist performs a duet with a famous act, with Ed Sheeran, Ella Henderson and Labrinth appearing on the show in 2014.

A source told The Sun: “Everybody on the X Factor is thrilled. [Adele is] the singer everyone wanted as we’ve been trying to make it happen for weeks. Adele is a phenomenon and now only adds to what will be an epic night.”

The future of X Factor has been in doubt after the news that ITV has purchased the rights to rival show The Voice.

The current series of X Factor has seen viewing figures plummet to a 11-year-low.

Meanwhile, Adele and Coldplay are in a UK album chart battle for this week’s Number One spot.

Midweek chart figures have Chris Martin’s band on course to pip Adele to the top spot with their seventh LP ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ by just 2,000 combined sales.
