The singer says Simon Konecki is the inspiration behind some of her songs
Adele has spoken of the stability boyfriend Simon Konecki provides her, calling their romance “the ultimate love story.”
Speaking to Australia’s ’60 minutes’, the singer was unusually candid about her personal life, explaining how Konecki – who’s the father of her child – is a huge influence on ’25’.
“Being in such an amazing relationship with someone that’s so there for me and so loyal and is really part of my core now, that’s what made me write about everything I’ve ever done, because I’ve got his love,” Adele said. She continued “I know that sounds a bit like I’m trying to write a Hollywood movie, but it’s only because of him and our kids and stuff that I’m all right.”
Adele also explains that Konecki is “in a couple of” her songs and that he loved her album.
During the interview, Adele says she was “frightened” by the success of second album ’21’, that it “grew limbs of its own and did marathon runs.”
’25’ came out on Friday (November 20), and has also had a successful first few days.
The album went to number one in 106 countries on release day, and is currently on target to top Oasis’ ‘Be Here Now’ for first-week sales, after selling 300,000 in its first day of release. ‘Be Here Now’ sold 695,761 copies in its first week.
Adele released the following statement on the day of ’25’s release:
“This feels like such a long time coming, my new album is finally out. I am so overwhelmed and grateful to be able to even put another record out, and put it out how I want. The last month has been a whirlwind, it’s literally taken my breath away. I hope you enjoy the record as much as I enjoyed making it for you.”
