James Corden spoofs Adele’s ‘Hello’ in Halloween ‘Star Wars’ parody

TV host appears alongside Billy Eichner as distant trick-or-treaters

James Corden spoofs Adele’s new single ‘Hello’ in a video which sees him star opposite comedian Billy Eichner as Halloween trick-or-treaters who have drifted apart.

The clip, which can be seen below, shows Late, Late Show host Corden and Eichner (Parks and Recreation, Billy On The Street) as friends who grew up trick-or-treating together while dressed as Star Wars characters Chewbacca and Han Solo.

However, in the video, Eichner has grown apart from this time and no longer wants to spend Halloween with Corden. “I just thought it was something that we’d always do together,” Corden sings. “Chewbacca needs his Han Solo.”

Eichner adds, “I’m too grown up these days for costumes/And I ain’t doing sweets.”

Adele‘s ‘Hello’ went straight to Number One in the Official UK Album Chart yesterday (October 30), becoming the fastest selling single of 2015 in the process.

‘Hello’ picked up 333,000 combined sales on the way to Number One with 259,000 downloads and a huge 7.32m streams. The year’s most streamed song in a single week prior to this was Justin Bieber’s ‘What Do You Mean?’ with 3.87m streams.

The track is now the biggest Number One single in three years, since James Arthur’s X Factor winner’s single ‘Impossible’ topped the chart in December 2012 with 490,000 sales.
