Adele’s ‘Hello’ video becomes second fastest ever to reach 100 million YouTube views

Clip reached the milestone in five days, just behind Psy's 'Gentleman'

Adele‘s video for new single ‘Hello’ has become the second fastest music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube.

‘Hello’, the first single from the British singer’s upcoming album ’25’, was released last Friday (October 23) and took just five days to cross the 100 million view mark (it is currently at 146 million at the time of publishing).

The feat places Adele just behind South Korean internet sensation psy, whose follow-up to ‘Gangnam Style’, ‘Gentleman’ reached 100 million YouTube views in just four days in 2013.

Representatives from YouTube have claimed that it usually takes “months” for a “major music video” to pass the 100 million view mark.

It was recently revealed that Adele’s ‘Hello’ video is being watched one million times an hour, which is more than the new Star Wars trailer.

‘Hello’ features on Adele’s new album ’25’, which will be released on November 20. The video for ‘Hello’ was shot in the countryside surrounding Montreal, Canada.
