Adele dresses as George Michael to celebrate 27th birthday

Singer calls the former Wham! frontman her 'hero' in Twitter post

Adele marked her 27th birthday yesterday by dressing up as George Michael.

The British singer turned 27 years of age on Tuesday (May 5), celebrating the milestone by donning an outfit similar to that of Michael in his ‘Faith’ artwork. Adele called the former Wham! frontman her “hero”, posting to fans on Twitter: “Thank you for the birthday wishes I had a wonderful time! I was my hero x #gottahavefaith”. Producer Emile Haynie has said that Adele is “taking her time” on her new album. The producer, who has previously worked with Kanye West, Eminem, Lana Del Ray and Bruno Mars, told The Daily Star that he met with the singer in February to discuss potentially working together and that the singer was in no rush to release a new album.

“We got along well as friends when we met in February and I hope we can cut some songs, but Adele is taking her time,” he said. “I’d push for it to happen, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting Adele’s third album. Her debut ’19’ was released in 2008, followed by ’21’ in 2011. ’21’ was recently announced as the best selling album this millennium, with sales of 4.74 million since its release.
