Adele confirmed to sing theme for James Bond film ‘Skyfall’

'21' songstress will provide soundtrack for new 007 flick

Adele has recorded the theme tune for forthcoming new James Bond film Skyfall, it has been confirmed.

After the ’21’ songstress caused a flurry of speculation earlier this month when she was spotted visiting London’s Abbey Road Studios where the soundtrack is being recorded Total Film have now confirmed that she will provide the film’s official song.

The track, which is also titled ‘Skyfall’, will see Adele follow in the footsteps of the likes of Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Madonna, Duran Duran and Paul McCartney in recording the official theme song for the 007 franchise.

The last Bond film Quantum Of Solace was soundtracked by Jack White and Alicia Keys with their collaboration ‘Another Way To Die’.

It was recently suggested by a source close to Adele that her new album has been inspired by her pregnancy.

With the singer and her boyfriend Simon Konecki currently expecting their first child, a friend of the couple’s claimed that her next record will be “lighter” than the heartbreak-tinged ’21’ due to her “excitement” at her impending new arrival.

Skyfall opens in the UK on October 26. The new movie’s release marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond series. Sean Connery kicked off the franchise in 1962, playing Ian Fleming’s British secret agent in Dr No. You can watch the trailer for the film below.
