Adele denies throat cancer rumours

The false rumours about the singer's condition surfaced on Twitter

A representative of Adele has come forward to put down Twitter rumours that the singer is suffering from throat cancer.

After cancelling her remaining tour dates for the year because of a hemorrhaged vocal chord, some fans suggested that the singer’s surgery was for a much more serious condition.

US Weekly contacted one of Adele’s team, who made the following statement: “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 per cent false.”

Adele, who has so far sold over three million copies of her second album ’21’ in the UK alone, will be undergoing surgery to deal with her persistent vocal problems and will be unable to perform for the rest of the year.

Her UK dates for November, which were already rescheduled once due to the singer’s ill health, have now been called off for good, with ticket buyers able to get refunds from their point of purchase. Adele has also called off 10 shows in North America.
