Adele cancels Cardiff and Blackpool shows due to ongoing illness

Singer forced to postpone another two shows as she is still suffering from bronchitis

Adele has been forced to postpone her gig at Cardiff‘s Motorpoint Arena which was due to take place tonight (September 7) and her gig at Blackpool‘s Empress Ballroom tomorrow night (September 8).

The ’21’ singer was also unable to perform at last night’s Mercury Prize ceremony (September 6) as she was suffering from bronchitis.

Adele has already been forced to postpone the opening two dates of her UK tour last week. New dates for the shows have yet to be announced.

The singer has issued an official statement about the postponement, which reads as follows:

It is with regret that due to continuing problems with a serious cold and chest infection, Adele has had to postpone her show tonight, Wednesday September 7 in Cardiff and the following date tomorrow, Thursday September 8 in Blackpool. She had cancelled her performance at the Mercury Awards last night in the hope she would be able to continue her live dates, but has been told by her doctors that she is still not well enough to perform.

It continues:

The shows will be rescheduled at the earliest opportunity and all original tickets will remain valid. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Adele is extremely sorry and apologises for any inconvenience caused and looks forward to seeing you all at the rescheduled shows.

Adele‘s gig at Wolverhampton‘s Civic Hall on Saturday (September 10) is currently still on.
