Adele, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown to perform at 2011 MTV VMA Awards

Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Britney Spears expected to attend August 28 ceremony

Adele will make her MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) debut at this year’s ceremony, which is taking place in Los Angeles on August 28.

The Tottenham soul singer will take to the stage at the Nokia Theatre on a night where her ‘Rolling In The Deep’ video is up for seven awards.

Lil Wayne will also perform on the eve of the release of his new album ‘Tha Carter IV’, which hits shelves on August 29. “Looking forward to performing on the show, and having ‘Tha Carter IV’ drop the same week,” the rapper told MTV News.

Chris Brown is also due to perform at the ceremony, while Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Pitbull are all expected to attend.

Perry has the most VMA nominations, with nine nods, followed by West with six and Mars with four.

Last year’s MTV VMAs were dominated by Lady Gaga, who won eight awards and wore her infamous meat dress to the ceremony.
