Spice Girls respond to Adele’s ‘Spice Up Your Life’ cover

Star sang 'Spice Up Your Life' at a gig in Amsterdam

Spice Girls members have reacted to Adele‘s recent live cover of their music.

Performing in Amsterdam on Friday night (June 3), the British singer delivered an impromptu cover of ‘Spice Up Your Life’ by the pop group.

Adele had told fans “Stop it, I’m not a Spice Girl” as the crowd chanted “Spice Girls” at her. She then started rapping, “Colours of the world, spice up your life, every boy and girl, spice up your life, people of the world, spice up your life” before saying, “Oh you lot are great”.

Responding to the brief cover, Mel B told Billboard: “I’m very kind of flattered. I think all of us are. It’s great. It leaves me speechless a little bit.”

The singer and America’s Got Talent judge added: “I love Adele. I love the fact that she kind of tips her hat off to us and gives us props. I mean who isn’t a fan of Adele? So, to know that she’s a fan of the Spice Girls is definitely one for the books.”

Mel C also responded to the cover by retweeting a video of the moment with a series of heart-eyes emojis. Geri Halliwell also tweeted: “Go Adele”.
