Astronaut Tim Peake presented Adele with the award for Global Success at tonight’s Brit Awards (February 24).
Peake, who is currently living on board the International Space Station for six months, wore a tuxedo t-shirt in the video message played on the screens in London’s O2 Arena before the singer accepted the gong.
“Congratulations to the incredible Adele,” he said. “She’s taken the world by storm and is a true global icon. I wish I could be there in person to present your award and do rest assured that we’re all huge fans up here. So congratulations once again.”

“I can’t work out if I’m crying cos of that video or if Tim Peake did it,” Adele responded. “My kid is going to think I’m so cool!”
“That was really amazing,” she said before being muted by ITV while she swore. “Tim Peake, I hope you’re not too hungry!” she signed off.
The singer also took home the awards for British Female Solo Artist, British Single for ‘Hello’ and MasterCard British Album Of The Year for ’25’. She closed the ceremony with a performance of latest single ‘When We Were Young’.
