Band cancelled gig on August 13 but drummer now says he is "feeling better than ever"
Aerosmith resumed their tour in Quincy, Washington last night (August 16) after drummer Joey Kramer’s illness forced the band to cancel shows earlier this week.
As previously reported, the US rockers cancelled a gig in Concord, California on August 13 due to “illness”. Reports suggested that Joey Kramer (pictured centre, above) had heart complications and that a source close to the band said that Kramer has had heart issues in the past and would require heart surgery.
However, as reported by Billboard, Kramer returned to the stage at The Gorge venue and, after saying that he “has no history of a heart condition”, issued the following statement: “I’m feeling better than ever and I’ll be back sitting in the best seat in the house, hitting it harder than ever for our amazing fans. My gratitude and thanks for all the love and support showered on me during this time. Feelin good feelin groovy feelin great !!! Nothin keeps the Kramedog down.”
Actor Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance on stage with Aerosmith last month (July 16), joining the band in a performance of blues song ‘Train Kept A-Rollin”.
Performing at Download earlier this summer, Aerosmith covered The Beatles‘ ‘Come Together’ as they brought the festival to a close with a hit-packed set.
