Alanis Morissette embroiled in a legal row over alleged dog kidnap

Singer claims her housekeeper and dog owner stole her pet

Alanis Morissette has become embroiled in a legal row over her pet dog.

The singer is currently in a battle with her former housekeeper and dog walker, over claims the pair kidnapped her dog, Circus, when they were recently fired by Morissette and her husband MC Souleye.

The accused have denied the claims and said Morissette had told them to take the dog away because she was allergic to it and it kept urinating on the carpet, reports The Guardian. The pair also posted a YouTube video, showing them stroking the dog and protesting that they had been harassed by private investigators working for Morissette.

Further legal documents have since been lodged by Morissette and her husband, which claim the video may have endangered Circus by making him known to professional dognappers.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Morissette’s 1995 album ‘Jagged Little Pill’ is set to become a Broadway musical. The singer is currently developing the album for the stage, with a workshop version of the musical set to debut in New York next year. Composer Tom Kitt, who worked on the stage version of Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’, will be working on the project with Morissette, whilst Vivek J Tiwary will produce with Arvind Ethan David.
