Glass said it's "a victory for survivors of abuse"
Glass issued a statement in October 2017 accusing her former bandmate of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse. Kath then filed a defamation suit, with Glass believing the post-show court-summons she received from someone imitating a fan was designed to intimidate her.
Last week, Glass said she was confident the suit would be thrown out, since “everything I said was true. You shouldn’t be able to waste everyone’s time and money to have a lawsuit that I’m going to win.” She has now announced that it has in fact, been dismissed.
“I won in court today!! the defamation lawsuit against me was dismissed ! thank you so much for the love and support throughout this ugly process,” she wrote on Twitter.
“this is a victory for survivors of abuse and sexual misconduct in countries where abusers use the court system to further victimize and keep people silent,” she added. “WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED” You can see those tweets below
Glass left Crystal Castles in 2014. Kath continued the band without her, replacing her with a new singer called Edith Frances.
Ethan Kath denies all of the allegations against him. At the time of Kath’s lawsuit, his attorney Shane Bernard said, “My client categorically denies all the malicious lies about sexual abuse. At no time did my client ever force Alice Glass into having sex with him against her will, much less by use of violence or drugs to take advantage of her.”
