The new additions join Warpaint, Future Islands, The War on Drugs and The Districts, who were announced in October, for the Saturday event.
In a statement, Public Service Broadcasting said: “We can’t wait for this show – we all love The National and have been fans for over a decade now – and what an honour to join such an incredible lineup. See you in June!”
The National’s show forms part of the APE Presents… series, held over the second weekend of the festival. Get tickets here.
In November, The National covered their support act Cat Power’s ‘Maybe Not’ for a Spotify Studios session.
Next month, The National will go up against the likes of Wolf Alice and Lorde to win Best Album at the VO5 NME Awards.
Their 2017 record ‘Sleep Well Beast’ got four stars from NME, and was described as an album in which the band “stray outside the previously clearly defined lines of what The National sound is.”
