The group's show of unity at London's Royal Albert Hall doesn't last long...
ALL SAINTS played live at LONDON’s ROYAL ALBERT HALL last night (January 16), temporarily quashing growing rumours of a permanent split.
However, despite the performance of their chart topping hit ‘Pure Shores’, it appeared that an irreconcilable rift had indeed developed between the four. Each were said to have insisted on separate dressing and Shaznay Lewis and Melanie Blatt also left the venue together without Natalie and Nicole Appleton.
The four were performing at the World Sports Awards 2001 in front of stars such as Muhammad Ali and Real Madrid footballer Luis Figo.
Onstage, Natalie Appleton followed the trend set by Madonna late last year, wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the legend ‘I Love Liam’ – either a reference to her own boyfriend, The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett – or a cheeky reference to sister, Nicole’s beau Liam Gallagher.
The band left the show making no comment about their future. When asked if they were staying together, Shaznay told waiting reporters: “Tonight’s been really great, very sophisticated.”
