The Appleton sisters are reported to have signed to Warner Brothers...

The future of ALL SAINTS looks increasingly uncertain this morning (January 9), with reports that sisters NICOLE and NATALIE APPLETON have signed a new record deal with WARNER RECORDS.

According to a report in this morning’s Daily Star tabloid in the UK, Nicole and Natalie have already started demoing material on their own, while The Mirror claims the duo will release material as a duo via Warner Brothers records. It is claimed that songwriter Shaznay Lewis is also attempting to negotiate her own record deal.

An “insider” told The Sun newspaper this morning that the girls’ manager has cut short a holiday to try and patch up their differences, but with no effect. The “insider” said: “He is trying to heal the rift but it’s a gaping and that has been getting bigger over the last few months and it’s like trying to put a Band Aid over it.”

The spotlight of blame appears to have fallen on Mel Blatt, who, it is claimed, is unwilling to commit fully to the group.

Official UK representatives for the band and for Warner Records were unavailable to NME.COM this morning, but it is expected that an announcement of some sort is expected later today.

Yesterday, a spokesperson told NME.COM that the girls’ forthcoming UK tour will go ahead as planned, but would not rule out the possibility of the band splitting after that. He said: “They will certainly be breaking for Nicole (Appleton) to have the baby, and Mel has voiced doubts before, but they will definitely undertake the tour as planned.”
