All Time Low, 5 Seconds of Summer and Good Charlotte collaborate on charity Christmas track – listen

A pop-punk cover of Judy Garland, anyone?

All Time Low‘s Alex Gaskarth has teamed up with 5 Seconds Of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin, Good Charlottes’ Joel Madden, Goldfinger’s John Feldmann and Simple Plan’s Pierre Bouvier to produce a cover of Judy Garland’s Christmas classic ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’.

Released under the name ‘The Holidaze’, the release is in aid of The Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a youth charity. The track is available as a free download, but the SoundCloud post is accompanied by a request to donate, stating:

“If you like this track, please consider donating to The Ryan Seacrest Foundation- a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education-focused initiatives,” as well as a link to the charity.

Both Cat Power (2013) and Marina and the Diamonds (2012) have previously released covers of the same track.

Good Charlotte recently reformed, and will make their UK live return as All Time Low’s support act on a UK and Ireland tour in February.

Alex Gaskarth also released a statement alongside the track, saying:

“Hello my loves! Around this time last year, me and some good friends thought it’d be fun to record a holiday jam for the world to hear. We lit a fire, made hot chocolate, and put our musical spin on a holiday classic, with producer genius, John Feldmann at the helm!

“We all knew we wanted to do something special with it to help people, so we decided to wait until this year to give everyone a listen! We’ve been working with Ryan Seacrest Foundation to raise money for an amazing cause, so we ask that in return for this track, you donate whatever you can spare to the foundation. Please follow the links and give whatever you can!

“Big thanks to Ashton (5 Seconds of Summer), Joel (Good Charlotte), Pierre (Simple Plan), and John (Goldfinger) for collaborating on this with me! Holiday super groups are the best kind!

“Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy!”
