Alt-J score Number Four album in America and announce Madison Square Garden show

'This Is All Yours' is currently at Number One in the UK album chart

Following their UK Number One, Alt-J have entered the US Billboard charts at Number Four with second album ‘This Is All Yours’.

The album was released on September 23 in America and was confirmed in the Top Five yesterday (October 1).

To coincide with this, the trio have announced their biggest US show to date, at New York’s 18,200 capacity Madison Square Gardens. The show will take place on March 30, 2015 and will serve as an additional date following a Winter 2014 tour.

In the UK, Alt-J beat Aphex Twin to score their first Number One with the record, but look set to drop down this weekend. According to midweek charts, Jamie T will take the top spot with comeback album ‘Carry On The Grudge’.

Alt-J recently played at London’s Alexandra Palace, their largest headline show to date. Covering Bill Withers track ‘Lovely Day’ as well as playing tracks from across ‘This Is All Yours’ and Mercury Prize-winning debut ‘An Awesome Wave’, they also welcomed the crowd to the “biggest gig of [their] lives”.

The rest of Alt-J’s current tour has now concluded, however the band will also play a headline show at London O2 Arena on January 24, 2015.
