Alt-J cover ‘Latch’ by Disclosure; band say they’re ‘over the moon’ about Number One album

Band perform a take on hit single during BBC Radio 1 appearance

Alt-J have covered Disclosure‘s ‘Latch’ live on BBC Radio 1. See below to watch now.

The band performed in the Live Lounge on Fearne Cotton’s show earlier today (September 29). The performance followed the news that the group’s second album, ‘This Is All Yours’, went straight to Number One yesterday (September 28). Alt-J’s Mercury Prize-winning debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’ peaked at Number 13 following its release in May 2012.

Celebrating his band’s success, Gus Unger-Hamilton of Alt-J said: “We’re over the moon to see our album at Number One. It was never something we thought we’d achieve, but it’s our fans who have put us there so we owe this to them.”

Alt-J recently finished a seven date tour of the UK, which culminated in the band’s biggest ever headline show to date at London’s Alexandra Palace. Alt-J have announced details of a one-off gig at London’s O2 Arena in January 2015. The band will play their biggest UK show to date on January 24 2015.
