Alt-J and Django Django open Glastonbury 2013 with packed-out secret sets

Crowds flood to the new William's Green tent

Alt-J opened Glastonbury 2013 tonight (June 27), making their Glastonbury festival debut with a secret show at the new-for-2013 William’s Green stage.

The band came onstage just before 10.30pm to a packed out tent, opening with the first track of their Mercury Prize-winning debut ‘An Awesome Wave’. A smouldering rendition of ‘Tessellate’ followed to rapturous applause before they launched straight into ‘Something Good’, with crowd members surfing through the audience.

“Hello Glastonbury! I tell you what, it’s pretty fucking amazing saying that,” multi-instrumentalist Gus Unger-Hamilton said, before playing ‘Dissolve Me’.
