Amanda Palmer shares new single ‘Voicemail For Jill’ and announces UK and European tour

Hear her powerful new song about abortion

Amanda Palmer has shared her bold new single ‘Voicemail For Jill’, tackling the subject of abortion, as well as announcing details of a UK and European tour.

Following on from recent singles ‘Mr Weinstein Will See You Now‘ and ‘Drowning In The Sound‘, the Dresden Dolls singer will release her third solo album ‘There Will Be No Intermission’ on March 8.

The latest taster from the record comes in the form of ‘Voicemail For Jill’, a song written after a visit to Dublin during the landmark referendum to legalise abortion.

“I’ve struggled for years to find the right way to write about the subject without sentimentality, preachiness or apology,” said Palmer. “I wrote this song as a gift, a handbook, for any woman on her way to have an abortion, and as a reminder that this is not an experience you have to face alone.”

Palmer will be taking the record on the road for a long run of shows throughout Europe and the UK in the Autumn. See full dates below. Tickets are on sale from 2 pm on February 26.
