Channel 4 newsreader Jon Snow performed Blur‘s ‘Parklife’ at an Amy Winehouse Foundation gig on Friday (September 13) – you can watch footage of the moment above.
Snow, who is a patron of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity set up in the name of the late singer who would have celebrated her 30th birthday on Friday, was a guest performer at the fundraiser held at the Gilgamesh bar in Camden.
The newsreader was in fine form and he also performed ‘There She Goes (Doo Waa Diddy)’ by Manfred Mann in front of a packed crowd. Mica Paris, David McAlmont and Mutya Buena also sang on the night.
A series of events operating under the name #Amys30 is currently running in Amy Winehouse‘s hometown of Camden, London, throughout September, to celebrate the late star’s birthday. Included in the events is a pop-up shop selling limited edition merchandise on Camden High Street plus an Amy Walking Tour of Camden. The events was launched with a party for the Amy Winehouse: For You I Was A Flame exhibition at Proud Galleries, which is displaying art and photographs from Winehouse’s life and career.
All money raised by #Amys30 will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up by her family following Amy’s passing in 2011. For more information visit www.amywinehousefoundation.org
