Singer in court with Pete Doherty to see husband remanded
Amy Winehouse was in court today (November 10) to see her husband remanded in custody, accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Babyshambles Pete Doherty was also in the public gallery throughout the hearing.
Blake Fielder-Civil was one of five men arrested by the Metropolitan Police for perverting the course of justice in relation to a court case due to start on Monday (November 12).
It is claimed that Fielder-Civil had been plotting to stop his and friend Michael Brown’s trial after they were accused of assaulting a barman and causing GBH with intent.
It is alleged that the pair were planning to pay the victim, James King, to withdraw his statement or take him abroad so the trial would collapse. However, police were apparently tipped off about the plot by The Daily Mirror.
Fielder-Civil appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court along with Anthony Kelly who faced the same charge.
Fielder-Civil and Kelly were remanded in custody and will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on November 23.
Winehouse‘s father Mitch was with Winehouse in the public gallery throughout the hearing.
She was wearing a black top and grey pencil skirt and sporting her trademark beehive, she blew her husband kisses and mouthed: “I love you” repeatedly as Fielder-Civil turned around and smiled at her.
Following the hearing Winehouse left the courthouse through a rear entrance and was driven away in a silver BMW without speaking to reporters.
Two other men who were arrested during the Metropolitan Police inquiry have been released on bail.
Another man, arrested in Derbyshire remains in custody at a north London police station.
Police searched Ms Winehouse’s home in north London as part of their investigation, although the couple were not in at the time of the raid, reports BBC.
