AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF THE DEAD drummer JASON REECE was hospitalised and required four stitches in his hand after a chaotic stage invasion at their show in LONDON last night (August 21).
The band played the Camden Monarch as a warm-up to their forthcoming performances at the Carling Weekend Festivals in Reading and Leeds this weekend (August 25-28).
Towards the end of the show, numerous members of the crowd invaded the stage and In the chaos that followed, Reece was knocked to the ground, striking his drumkit with his arm.
One eyewitness told nme.com: “It was absolutely mental, the crowd just clambered on the stage and all the band’s equipment got trashed. Somewhere in the middle of it the drummer looked to get hurt, but it was very difficult to see what was going on.”
Following the show Reece was taken to a local hospital where he received stitches. It is expected that they will be removed within a week, and their shows at the Carling festivals will go ahead as scheduled.
A spokesperson for the band added: “If he’d lost an arm I think they would still play!”
…Trail Of The Dead plan to release their new single, ‘Mistakes And Regrets’ towards the end of October through Domino. A handful of UK dates are currently being finalised for before the end of the year.
