Primal Scream collaborator Andrew Weatherall to release solo album

Man behind 'Screamadelica' to branch out alone

Andrew Weatherall, the DJ who co-produced Primal Scream‘s seminal 1991 album ‘Screamadelica’, is set to release his first solo album next month.

The ten-song album, named ‘A Pox on The Pioneers’, will be released on September 21.

As well as production and remixing work Weatherall has released original music with Sabres Of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen – but ‘A Pox on The Pioneers’ marks his first original release under his own name.

In a statement issued on behalf of Weatherall, the album was described as an “integration of the substrata of rock and roll with modernistic electronics”.
