And there was blood. Lots of it...

ANDREW WK, hotly tipped by NME.COM to be 2002’s biggest new star, shot his first video in LOS ANGELES last week – and we were there.

The video – for ‘Party Hard’, the lead track of an EP released on October 22 – features WK giving an intense, ecstatic rendition of the single, punching a toilet wall and ending covered in blood. Although the blood is fake, Andrew got guitarist Jimmy Coup to punch him repeatedly in the face before the take.

“The video”, he told NME.COM, “is us doing what we do, which is playing as hard as we can.”

The performance takes place in front of a huge image of Andrew with a bloody nose, a picture he sent to Dave Grohl and which led to him getting a Foo Fighters support slot last year.
