Andrew WK to publish ‘The Party Bible’

Simon & Schuster will be putting out his first book - "an unforgettable voyage in search of truth, wisdom, and party bliss"

Andrew WK is set to release a book called The Party Bible.

The musician, motivational speaker and partying afficionado has signed a book deal with publishing house Simon & Schuster. According to WK, the book will sum up his “entire career as a professional partier”. The AV Club reports that there will also be an audiobook version of The Party Bible.

WK’s editor, Michael Szczerban, says WK’s first book will be “an unforgettable voyage in search of truth, wisdom, and party bliss” adding “in it, every feeling will be permitted, every thought will become prophecy, and humanity’s surging life force will be harnessed and ridden into the abyss”. Fans are being asked to help contribute to the book, by tweeting at Andrew WK. Simon & Schuster say: “Andrew WK’s book will pick up where the Book of Revelation ends. What do you want it to include? Tell @AndrewWK with the hashtag #ThePartyBible.”

This June, Andrew WK completed his attempt to drum for 24 hours straight in Times Square, New York. On completion of the task, the rocker tweeted to his fans: “WE DID IT!!! 24 HOURS OF DRUMMING!!!” He added: “Remember… I didn’t do it, WE did it. You were with me every beat. I feel very emotional and party.”

WK was attempting to set the dubious-sounding record for the longest drum session in a retail store. Speaking to NME during one of his hourly five-minute breaks, WK said he took on the challenge “for fun. For the fun of partying. To spread the gospel of Party Fun!” WK was joined by guests including Marky Ramone and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith during the marathon.
