The star parties a little too hard for one punter...

Andrew WK knocked out a girl in the audience of his NME CARLING TOUR SHOW at WOLVERHAMPTON WULFRUN HALL last night (January 29) after he threw himself into the crowd during his encore.

According to eyewitnesses at the gig, Andrew threw himself off the stage and into the first few rows of the audience at the close of his last song ‘Don’t Stop Living In The Red’.

A girl close to the front was instantly knocked to the ground.

NME journalist Piers Martin said: “She was in the first five rows or so, and as soon as it happened, a crowd of people gathered round and she was pulled out and was carried out by the back entrance, which was stage left. She was conscious, but looked distressed.”

It’s not yet known whether or not she required medical treatment or the extent of her injuries, though they are not thought to be serious.

There was no comment from Andrew WK at the time of going to press.

The gig was the fourth in the tour, which also features Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Coral and Lostprophets.

It continues tonight at Sheffield University before moving on to Liverpool University (February 1) and Manchester Academy (2). The gig at Leeds Metropolitan University is sold out, then the tour calls at Leicester De Montfort University (5) and Norwich UEA (6). The last nights of the tour at Portsmouth Pyramid, Bristol University and London Astoria are also sold out.
