Aphex Twin unveils new AFX track ‘Oberheim Blacet1b’ – listen

Track taken from new release Orphaned Deejay Selek (2006-2008), out August 21st

Aphex Twin‘s busy year continues with the release of ‘Oberheim Blacet1b’, from the ambient electronic artist’s first recording under the name ‘AFX’ in more than a decade.

The track was played on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 6 show (click here, and jump to 02:38) this morning, as she sat in for Lauren Laverne. It’s the second track from the up and coming album – which will be titled ‘Orphaned Deejay Selek 2006-2008′ – to be made public, following ‘Serge Fenix Rendered 2’ back in June.

The Limerick-born electronic artist has put plenty of new material out over the past year or so, including latest LP Syro, the Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt. 2 EP (released out of the blue in January) and a heap of Soundcloud tracks that date back to the 80s. He had previously stayed away from traditional full-length releases since 2001’s ‘Drukqs.
