The accessory was originally intended to be released in October
Apple have finally released their AirPod headphones.
The wireless headphones, which have been created to be compatible with the controversially headphone jack-less iPhone 7, were originally slated for a wide release in late October, having been officially announced back in September. However, their release was delayed in November, and an Apple spokesperson had to reveal the cause of the delay: “We don’t believe in shipping a product before it is ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers.”
The AirPods have now been made available for sale on the online Apple Store. An accompanying press release confirmed that orders for the headphones can now be placed online, which can be bought for £159. However, as The Daily Express reports, shipping and delivery of the AirPods in the UK won’t begin until January.
In other recent Apple news, the introduction of a new ‘Touch Bar’ feature on the latest line of Macbook Pros has welcomed in an interactive keyboard app.
Released by the tech company for free, ‘Touch Bar Piano’ allows users to play any of 128 instruments on its admittedly-narrow keyboard interface.
