Will Butler premieres new song ‘Anna’ and confirms European tour

Arcade Fire guitarist to play four UK dates in April

Arcade Fire’s Will Butler has premiered a new song called ‘Anna’ and confirmed a European tour for April.

The track – which you can listen to below – is taken off Butler’s upcoming solo debut ‘Policy’, which is due to be released March 16 via Merge Records.

The album, recorded in one week at Electric Lady Studios in New York, was described by Butler as “American music – in the tradition of the Violent Femmes, the Breeders, the Modern Lovers, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, the Magnetic Fields, Ghostface Killah, and John Lennon (I know, but it counts). Music where the holy fool runs afoul of the casual world.”

Butler’s first ever European headline tour includes four UK and Ireland Dates – in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Dublin. The singer-songwriter was also announced as part of the line-up for this year’s SXSW festival alongside Palma Violets, Best Coast, Kate Tempest, Catfish & The Bottlemen and Leon Bridges.

Will Butler will play:

Amsterdam, Melkweg (April 13)
Brussels, Ancienne Belgique (14)
Cologne, Luxor (15)
Berlin, Frannz Club (16)
Paris, La Maroquinerie (18)
Glasgow, School of Art (20)
