Richard Reed Parry and Sarah Neufeld of the band will join forces with the London Contemporary Orchestra
Members of Arcade Fire are set to perform a special composition based on the human heartbeat.
Richard Reed Parry – pictured above – and Sarah Neufeld of the band will join forces with the London Contemporary Orchestra for the performance for BBC Radio 3, the pace of which will be set by the heartbeats of the musicians. The performance is based on Parry’s solo album, ‘Music for Heart and Breath’.
The performance will be broadcast tonight (July 17) at 11pm on BBC Radio 3.
Arcade Fire recently made the shortlist for this year’s Polaris Music Prize, alongside Drake and Mac DeMarco. A shortlist of 10 was whittled down from a 40-strong longlist earlier this week, ahead of the prize giving ceremony for the Canadian album award on September 22.
Previous nominees Drake and Arcade Fire lead the big names on this year’s shortlist with their albums ‘Nothing Was The Same’ and ‘Reflektor’ respectively. Arcade Fire won the award in 2011 for ‘The Suburbs’.
