Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner stars in Mini Mansions’ ‘Vertigo’ video – watch

The band featuring Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman release new album this week

Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner stars in the video for ‘Vertigo’, his collaboration with Mini Mansions.

The trio – consisting of Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman, Zach Dawes and Tyler Parkford – release their second album ‘The Great Pretenders’ this week (March 23), following on from their 2010 self-titled debut. The video itself features a suited Turner alongside a number of topless models.

Shuman said of making the clip: “The night before the shoot we played this strange private party for Saint Laurent with Bleached and Sky Ferreira, where we each played 15 minute sets. So there was plenty of time for debauchery afterward. Us and Alex managed to stumble onto set for the shoot at 9am with a half dozen naked ladies waiting to partake in the shoot. I’d say it was a pretty ideal setup for the making of this video.”

‘The Great Pretenders’ is released on T Bone Burnett’s Electromagnectic Recordings label and also features a guest appearance from Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.

Mini Mansions just completed a UK tour with Royal Blood. These dates follow on from the band’s recent show at London’s The Lexington, where Turner joined them on stage.
