Is the 'Blade Runner' line no more?
Alex Turner changed the lyrics of the Arctic Monkeys song ‘Star Treatment’ to give a shout-out to the movie Drive during their gig in Düsseldorf last night (June 26) – watch fan-shot footage of the moment below.
The Sheffield band performed at the German city’s Mitsubishi Electric Halle last night as part of their ongoing tour in support of new album ‘Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino’. They’ll play in Copenhagen’s Royal Arena tonight (June 27) – their final show before their much-anticipated headline show at Glasgow’s TRNSMT festival on Sunday (July 1).
The Düsseldorf gig produced one especially memorable moment as Turner chose to change one lyric in ‘Star Treatment’ to show his appreciation for the Ryan Gosling-starring film Drive, which was released in 2011. After referencing Blade Runner in the original version, Turner last night sang the line: “What do you mean you’ve never seen Drive?“.

Last week, Turner recalled the time that the band unwittingly asked David Bowie to leave his table while he was attending one of their gigs.
