Ariana Grande has revealed she intends to make a soul album.
Grande said she intends to make an album influenced by her favourite artists such as Imogen Heap and India Arie.
Grande told The Daily Star: “I love pop music, but some of my favourite artists like Imogen Heap and India Arie aren’t pop. I can see me making a left-of-centre soul album some day.”
The news came two days after Grande fell over on stage during the first night of her North American tour on Sunday (March 4). The singer tripped on some stairs, landing on her knees, during opening song Bang Bang at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. She tweeted afterwards: “Tonight was such a fun show. Y’all made me feel so much better!” Footage of the incident can be seen below.
Meanwhile, the mother of Grande’s new partner, rapper Big Sean, has voiced her approval of the singer. After the rapper attended Grande’s Toronto concert, Big Sean’s mother Myra Anderson href=”http://www.tmz.com/2015/03/09/big-sean-dating-ariana-grande-mom-video/”>told TMZ: “She’s fun, she’s great.” The pair had reportedly tried to keep their relationship secret, but Anderson added: “Everybody knew he was at the show last night with Ariana. So she’s fabulous.”
Grande goes on a four-date UK arena tour in June to promote her 2014 album My Everything.
Ariana Grande will play:
London O2 (June 1)
Manchester Arena (4)
Glasgow SSE Hydro (8)
Birmingham Barclaycard Arena (9)
