Ariana Grande defends manager over fan comments about her engagement

"The devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder."

Ariana Grande took to Twitter yesterday (July 8) to defend her and Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun over claims that he coerced the two artists’ recent engagements.

Grande was recently announced to be engaged to SNL comedian Peter Davidson while Justin Bieber also recently proposed to Hailey Baldwin.

A fan tweeted at Grande: “First Ariana get engaged to Pete Davidson and now Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin the devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder.”

Grande replied in a (now deleted) series of tweets: “You do realize we are human beings who love and have lives… right? And that Scooter is a wonderful human being too who cares first n foremost [about] our health and happiness?”

“Love is lit. S*** happens. I hope to god it happens to you too. U deserve it”.

Reacting to claims that it was a gentle prod from some fans, Grande replied saying: “okay okay, be nice to that man. he’s wonderful and very human. always puts his artists’ health and happiness first”.

Meanwhile, Grande recently responded to criticism of her fiancé Pete Davidson’s joke about last year’s Manchester Arena attack.

This weekend (July 1), it was reported that Davidson had made a joke about the attack during a stand-up routine months after the incident. He is alleged to have said Grande must realise how famous she had become because “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert.”

She wrote. “he uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in this world are. we all deal w trauma differently. I of course didn’t find it funny.”

Ariana Grande is due to release her new album ‘Sweetener’ on August 17, which will include a short song about her new fiancé, titled ‘Pete’.
