Ariana Grande hints at February release date for new album ‘thank u, next’

The follow-up to 'Sweetener' is coming soon

Ariana Grande has hinted that her next album, ‘thank u, next’, will be released in February.

The record follows ‘Sweetener’, which was released in August 2018, and is expected to feature the hit title track and new single ‘7 Rings’.

On Twitter earlier today (January 21), Grande took questions from her fans, asking them: “what would u like to know”. In the Q&A session, she revealed there would be no features on the album and the cover and tracklist would be unveiled on Friday (January 25).

When one fan wrote, “Hopefully it releases feb so its the best birthday gift,” the pop star replied: “hbd.” Another asked if the release date February 8 because it was their 21st birthday then, to which Grande responded: “how convenient.”

Later, she tweeted: “two albums in six months huh. That’s deep. Love u. Talk sooon.” A February release would make it six months since ‘Sweetener’ was made available.

The singer released her latest single ‘7 Rings’ on Friday (January 18). Shortly after its release, Princess Nokia accused Grande of copying her song ‘Mine’ on the track.

“Does that sound familiar to you?” she tweeted. “Cause that sound really familiar to me. Ain’t that the lil song I made about brown women and their hair? Hmmm… sounds about white.”

Meanwhile, this weekend (January 19) Grande shared a tribute to Mac Miller on what would have been the rapper’s 27th birthday. She posted several photos of the pair together on Instagram, taken during their two-year relationship.
