Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ becomes fastest ever song to surpass 100 million Spotify streams

The surprise single was only released on November 3

Ariana Grande has celebrated her song ‘Thank U, Next’ reportedly becoming the fastest song in Spotify history to surpass 100 million streams on the platform.

The surprise single was released on November 3, and sees Grande addressing her previous relationships with the likes of Pete Davidson, Big Sean and the late Mac Miller.

The huge success of the song has seen Grande earn her first-ever US number one single, while the artist also broke Spotify’s existing record for the most streamed song by a female artist in a single day (‘Thank U, Next”s 9.6 million plays beat Taylor Swift’s previous 24-hour record of 9.1 million streams).

Grande has now revealed to her fans that ‘Thank U, Next’ has become the fastest song in Spotify history to surpass the 100 million streams mark, with a post on her Instagram this evening (November 14) claiming that the milestone was passed by Grande in just 11 days. See the post below.

Grande is thought to be readying up a brand new album, with the singer teasing fans earlier this week by posting an in-the-studio video with songwriter/producer Max Martin.

The singer’s debut live performance of ‘Thank U, Next’ last week, meanwhile, was briefly interrupted after Grande fell off a chair.
