A$AP Rocky reveals that he’s worked on “a lot of music” with Kanye West

The Harlem rapper is currently gearing up to release his next album 'Testing', which could drop by the end of the week

A$AP Rocky has revealed that he worked with Kanye West on “a lot of music” during sessions for his new album ‘Testing’.

The Harlem rapper is readying up the release of his third studio album ‘Testing’, which is rumoured for a release on Friday (May 25) – although that date has yet to be officially confirmed.

Speaking to Complex ahead of the release of ‘Testing’, Rocky disclosed that he was able to hang out with some of his “favourite” people – including MGMT, Dave Chappelle and Kanye – while recording the new album in Berlin.

“The energy there is crazy,” Rocky said about the German city. “I feel like Berlin still has a big appreciation for hip-hop culture. The architecture, you still see graffiti everywhere, like real artists and real art, cobblestone roads. There’s nothing wrong with just taking that all in. It was perfect.”

While he wouldn’t be drawn on specifics, Rocky did reveal that he and Kanye managed to work on “a lot of music” together while they were both in Berlin.

“Kanye turned the hotel we were staying at into a Yeezy compound,” he said. “He was designing sneakers in one suite, making music in one suite, and I was making music in my suite. It was crazy. We shut down the whole hotel.”

Last month, Rocky declared that he wanted to work with Morrissey to create some “Smiths shit” – “some emo, real, retro-infusion, motherfuckin’ 2018 shit, man,” he added.
