Ash excited about life without Charlotte Hatherley

The band enjoy being a three-piece again

Ash have no regrets about parting ways with Charlotte Hatherley, because they insist the “communication” has improved since the guitarist moved on.

Hatherley left the indie band last year after nearly a decade, but although the split was amicable, the boys admit they have never looked back.

Ash were originally a three-piece until Hatherley joined in 1997. She appeared on the albums ‘Nu-Clear Sounds’ (1998), ‘Free All Angels’ (2001) and ‘Meltdown’ (2004).

Drummer Rick McMurray told “We’re excited because the communication in the band’s a lot better and we’re back to the old line-up.

“It feels very comfortable, we’re used to it, and it’s great to get back into the studio. We’re starting over – new line-up, new material.”

Ash’s new single ‘You Can’t Have It All’ is out now. Their album ‘Twilight Of The Innocents’ follows on July 2.
