Tim Wheeler's mystery ailment means the Manchester Apollo date is in severe doubt...

ASH frontman TIM WHEELER was hospitalised last night (May 8) with a mystery illness, putting tonight’s MANCHESTER APOLLO gig in jeopardy.

According to an unofficial Ash website, Wheeler was admitted to a London hospital with painful swellings to his arms.

However, a spokesperson for the band said tonight’s Carling Live gig with [a][/a] and The Rain Band will still go ahead.

Ash bassist Mark Hamilton reportedly told the website: “Tim is in a private hospital, his arm is about four times its size, I don’t know if the gig is still going ahead tomorrow.

“If it does go ahead, Tim wont be able to play guitar, so Charlotte will have to do everything herself and Tim will just sing.”

Ash are confirmed to play the V Festival over the weekend of August 16-17 in Stafford and Chelmsford.
